In French there are 3 ways to ask a question.
~ The first way is intonation. You need just to raise the intonation at the end of the sentence. However, this way of asking questions can be used only in INformal conversation.
~ The second way is the construction "est-ce que". It is required to add this construction at the very beginning of the affirmative sentence without changing the word order. It is a neutral way to ask a question.
~ The third way is the inversion. It is required to swap subject and verb. It is the most sustained way to ask a question.
